Welcome to Osprey Ridge – A Modern Home With Amish Influences

Osprey Ridge is easily one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Suncadia. The community features only 11 homesites, each enclosed by its own wrought iron gate. One particular home, currently being constructed by Suncadia Featured Builder, Craig Reimer Custom Homes,  is situated in a particularly stunning location. According to Craig, “The views are incredible, like you are perched in the tree tops.”

More Than A Contemporary Home in Suncadia

What else makes this particular Osprey Ridge home so compelling? Craig Reimer was kind enough to share some of the home’s more unique details. To start, the owners of the home, Philip and Naya Head, chose an Amish cabinet maker from Indiana to help them with the construction of their cabinets throughout the residence.Based in Odon, Indiana, the cabinet facility employs approximately 50 people, who will take turns distressing the cabinet boxes. Each box will be touched five times or more throughout the distressing process; according to Craig, the Heads’ cabinets will be the largest-scale project the shop has ever done. This type of work cannot be replicated by a machine.

No two boxes will be identical, promising a natural and unique look. Once the cabinet has been distressed and the chosen stain and glaze have been applied, the box will be placed in a heat chamber to bake, providing a smooth finish.

Because this is such an extensive job and the shop is based in Indiana, the Amish have been granted special permission to take a train to Seattle. They will visit Suncadia for two days to measure each room and confirm designs with the builders and homeowners. This will ensure that all teams are on the same page, allowing for a seamless build.

Craig Reimer indicated that the Odon cabinetmakers take a remarkable amount of pride in the work they do. He says they’re particularly excited for the natural finish on these cabinets.

We also asked Craig what made the Heads’ home different from other homes in the community. His reply? “The Heads’ home combines a rustic mountain cabin feel with outstanding views of the breathtaking ridges and forests that surround Suncadia. It has a two-story wall of windows in the great room that makes you feel like you’re a part of the view. The view side of the home has three levels and four decks/patios that allow you to take it all in from outside as well.” What else could you ask for?
