In today’s world of chaos and constant stimulation, it’s hard to quiet the mind and think. Getting into nature offers a way to find some silence and clarity; the elements whip us into shape, the birds serenade us, and the fresh air awakens the senses more than coffee ever could. And really, could there be a better place to experience all this than in Suncadia?

Home to over 40 miles of trails, many of them stretching through the exceptional Suncadia Conservancy—dedicated to preserving indigenous flora and fauna of the area—they offer the chance to explore the great outdoors at your own pace. No matter how you want to venture out onto the trails—mountain biking, hiking, walking, running, and as the winter months approach, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing are just some of the ways you can discover nature’s secrets.

Perfect for solitary ruminations, romantic strolls and family adventures, Suncadia’s trails aren’t just another way to stay active—they are the threads that connect the tapestry of our community, passing by the Lodge, the different neighborhoods, linking to the river, to Rosyln, and everyplace in between.

Follow the Nelson Creek Trail down to the Fish Shed, and stop a while for a riverside family picnic. Enjoy a guided hike to the river, and journey through verdant forest over deer and elk trails. Venture beyond the property for a climb up to the top of Manashtash Ridge or walk alongside the Cooper River to Cooper Lake. If you’re up to the challenge, climb down the 1,000 steps from The Lodge to the Cle Elum River, taking pitstops at landings overlooking the picturesque landscape—then climb back up it again.

Young and old, novice or pro, every outdoor enthusiast will find the trails spread across the mountain resort community inviting and inspiring; every heart will feel the joy of accomplishing something new, triumphing over Mother’s Nature challenges big and small.

So the next time you’re in Suncadia, make sure to pack your gear—it’s time to answer the call of the wild. Learn more about the trails open for exploration, and don’t forget to download your Suncadia Trail Map.

Lakeside Bliss Has a New Address

Imagine a place far removed from the chaos of the city, deep in the heart of the mountains, created for a truly private way of life. This is Tumble Creek, Suncadia’s most sought-after community, a place where residents can enjoy a truly unique members-only lifestyle.

Now, imagine coming home to a scene straight out of a fairy tale, where twilight sets the stage for an ethereal sight, and the sounds of nature are the soundtrack for your evening. These are the Paintbrush Lakes at Tumble Creek, inspired by Washington’s sparkling mountain glacial lakes, and named for the red and orange “Indian Paintbrush”— a stunning memorable red and orange and vibrant wildflower. Made up of a series of lakes that flow one to the next, reflecting the soaring pines and passing clouds, it forms a focal point for the community. Picturesque and purposeful, each pond transforms the everyday; some are made for lakeside contemplation, some beckon avid fishers, and others invite paddle boarders and kayakers to explore the waters.

Surrounding the lake is the lush Domerie Park, home to waterfalls, a creek and plenty of shaded spots for spontaneous family picnics. Should a game of frisbee or tag not be enough to keep the little ones occupied, feel free to explore the Lupine Trail that winds through the park and showcases different aspects of the community; the more adventurous can hike to the 5,800-foot summit of the Mt. Baldy Trail for scenic views above it all.

You can now make this enchanting and inspiring setting the site for your new home — choose from a limited release of homesites located overlooking the Paintbrush Lakes and the golf course and build your dream home in Tumble Creek. As a resident, you’ll enjoy all the advantages this club community has to offer, including access to private golf, glamping at Mt. Sasse Outpost and vibrant social experiences at the Hill House. Get in touch with one of our onsite real estate experts and find your spot in the sun.

Dive into good times this summer with a day at Nelson Farm Pool— a warm, social place that offers numerous opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Set in historic Nelson Farm, (originally homesteaded by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Montague in the late 1890s when they established the Montague Dairy), this isn’t any ordinary pool—it’s a day-long experience that will keep you coming back for more.

At first glance, you see a tribute to the yesteryears, as the amenities live within the original farmhouse, barn, cabin and stables surrounded by panoramic vistas of the Cascade Mountains. But look a little closer and you’ll see that it offers something for everyone—from a lazy river to swim lanes, an interactive splash pad, and of course, plenty of loungers perfect for napping and soaking up the sun. Spend lazy afternoons by the pool, then pop over to Nellie’s, a casual poolside restaurant that serves delicious light bites and refreshing cocktails. Or, hang out with the neighbors as you enjoy the lively weekend barbecues.

The best part? Nelson Farm Pool is just a few minutes away from the gated community of River Ridge, a place that is lively or as laidback as you desire. A limited number of new homesites are now available as part of the neighborhood expansion plan, so contact us for a private tour and to find your spot in the sun.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: In keeping with state & local COVID-19 laws, pool occupancy is limited to residents and registered Suncadia guests who reserve use of the pool and its amenities. For more details on pool usage, click here.

A place unlike any other; flanked by mountains, fringed by a majestic river, and flaunting the perfect blend of charm and contemporary comforts. A home for life, located 80 miles from Seattle, on the sunny eastern slopes of the Cascades. This is Suncadia, a four-season destination for family-friendly fun.

There are numerous reasons to make the move to this incredible resort community—these are our top five, but we’re sure you’ll find your own!

1. A chance to explore an endless backyard

Most homes in Suncadia are within walkable distance of the community’s trail network that covers over 40 miles—which means every day can bring a new discovery, a new memory, a new destination. And the dues paid to Suncadia’s Homeowner Association means every homeowner gets unfettered access to the trails, parks, common areas, and road system.

2. Space to hone your snow-sports skills

Life in Suncadia is ideal for those looking to conquer the slopes—with two months of snowfall a year leaving the mountains covered with a pristine white blanket, cross country skiers, snowshoers, sledders and tubers alike have plenty of room to perfect their technique. Of course, the HOA does a stellar job of keeping the roads clear, making sure your trip up to the tubing hill is safe and secure.

3. 54 holes of golf across 3 courses

Golfers of all ages are welcome to play at one of Suncadia’s two courses— Prospector Golf Course, which is adjacent to the 18-room Inn at Suncadia, and Rope Rider Golf Course, which is named after the coal miners worked in Cle Elum. What’s more, members of Tumble Creek can enjoy the use of its private Tom Doak-designed golf course in addition to both courses in Suncadia.

4. A stress-free home-building experience

Once you’ve purchased a homesite, you can take as long as you like to build your dream home, the way you want—there’s no time limit or deadline to meet. What’s more, you can build a home that’s just right for you without worrying about it being too big or too small; in fact, the minimum square footage of homes in Suncadia’s main neighborhoods is 2200 sq. ft. and that’s including a 2-car garage.

5. The freedom to choose your way of life

Although Suncadia has a property management service that offers maintenance and housekeeping, there is no mandate that owners have to use this service—in fact, a lot of Suncadia owners have their own preferred service providers. The same applies to builders, designers and architects—Suncadia will point you in the right direction to independent vendors with local expertise and familiarity with design guidelines, county building codes, etc.
