Spring is finally here. At Suncadia, that means different things to different people. For many —kids especially—it means that most delicious of Suncadia seasons (summer, obviously) is just around the corner. In the meantime, it’s time to dust off the bikes, the fishing poles, and—for many members of our community—the golf clubs.

Suncadia’s three unique and distinctive championship golf courses span the Resort’s 6,400 acres of pine and fir forest, lakes, ponds, and the Cle Elum River. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of teeing up at Suncadia, here’s what you can expect:

Prospector Golf Course at Suncadia Resort

Our pleasantly playable Arnold Palmer-designed Prospector Course sits alongside the 18-room Inn at Suncadia (the perfect place to stay when you join us for a golf weekend). This course is notable for its spectacular sweeping views of the Cascade Mountains from the elevated 10th hole tees.

Tumble Creek Golf Course

Suncadia’s private Tom Doak-designed Tumble Creek Course threads through forests and along bluffs that overlook the river and across expansive meadows, creating an extraordinary golf experience. Wanting to create a course reminiscent of parkland courses in the east, Tom Doak moved very little land to create Tumble Creek; instead, he ‘found’ the course in the landscape.

Rope Rider Golf Course

The Jacobsen Hardy-designed Rope Rider Course is named in honor of the brave rope riders who once worked in the area’s coal mines. The foundations and portals of mines No. 9 and No. 10 remain on the course, along with Tipple Hill – a 120-foot-tall hill of coal tailing. Rope Rider is a championship course that’s ideal for golfers of all abilities, including families and young golfers; Kids’ Tees are available for juniors. And the course’s quick holes allow you to get in an after-work round before nightfall.

Post-Golf Season

Ever wonder what happens to your favorite golf course at the end of the season?

After the season ends each fall, our golf courses sit idle, awaiting the first snowfall. Once there’s enough snow on the ground, the courses play host to two fantastic winter activities: cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Both locals and visitors are encouraged to experience the rugged beauty of a post-snowfall Pacific Northwest by using the groomed trails created throughout the course.

On Saturday, April 29th, Suncadia hosted the 3rd annual Real Estate Expo and more than 150 people attended the event at the Inn at Suncadia, where they had the chance to meet a select group of vendors, including architects, mortgage lenders and featured builders.

The event was a great opportunity for guests to learn everything they needed to know about owning or building a property at Suncadia. There was great food prepared and served by Suncadia staff, complimentary drinks for both kids and adults, and plenty of activities at Campcadia that kept little ones entertained with arts and crafts.

The event featured 23 vendors eager to share their knowledge, and guests mingled from booth to booth getting answers to all their questions—from architectural design to eco-friendly landscaping, property management, furnishings and financing options from experienced mortgage brokers. The event attracted many existing Suncadia homeowners who are considering another purchase, many new owners looking to build, and even people who’d heard about Suncadia and were excited to learn more. “What a great event!” said Lynn Romans of Woodridge Custom Homes. “As a longtime builder and homeowner, it was exciting to talk to so many new lot owners ready to build their new Legacy home in Suncadia.”

Each vendor donated $100 to Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds and improves homes for families in need. Guests also had the chance to donate to the organization by giving to the donation box or purchasing beer from Roslyn Brewery.

Everyone at Suncadia was thrilled with the success of the event and are looking forward to working with families to build their dream home in our resort community.
