We recently had the opportunity to write a feature for the Seattle Times that highlighted Nelson Preserve—Suncadia’s newest neighborhood—and the exciting enhancements that are in progress at the historic dairy farm at Nelson Preserve.

In introducing Nelson Preserve to Seattle Times readers who didn’t know about the neighborhood (or even about Suncadia), we wanted to zero in on what makes it such a special place. What makes buying a second home at Nelson Preserve appealing?

The enhancements to the Nelson Farm—and particularly the farm pool, set to open in time for summer 2017—are certainly a big draw, but it’s much more than that.

Then it came to us: balance.

Something residents of Nelson Preserve tell us is that they love how the neighborhood feels so far away—backing onto the peaceful Suncadia Conservancy, it’s remote and serene. It’s the perfect place to get away from the pressures of the city, to relax and rejuvenate, whether by climbing a mountain or spending a day on the porch.

But homeowners also tell us they love how close it is to the Suncadia community; how they love the connection they feel with their neighbors—a connection that is sometimes lacking in their neighborhoods in the city. We’re excited to see the new amenities at Nelson Farm build on those connections, as they give the residents of Nelson Preserve a community gathering place right in their backyard.

Simply put, Nelson Preserve is the perfect balance between escape and community.
