When you talk about wine, you talk about its characteristics—the length, the finish, the structure, the balance. But you could easily be talking about a home; in fact, you could be talking about life in Suncadia, where beautifully designed homes nestled in nature offer a perfect balance of adventure, community and relaxation.

On March 28, the Suncadia Real Estate team co-hosted an event with Membership that brought together a lively group of Suncadia and Tumble Creek friends and guests, from Tumble Creek General Manager Jared Jeffries and Chef Chad Storms to current members of the community. The event took place in Seattle’s Structure Cellars, where owners Brandee and Brian shared their passion for wine and poured some of their best vinos.

Some 80 guests gathered in the welcoming tasting room to sample tasty bites like phyllo wrapped brie, smoked duck breast with blueberry compote, bacon and chevre tartlets, and Riesling poached prawns paired with some excellent wines including Foundation Malbec and Craftsman Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine and life at Tumble Creek and the Suncadia community were the topics of the evening, as guests shared stories of gatherings at Nelson Farm for elk feedings during the winter; of rounding up the little ones for the harvest festival where wagon rides and pumpkin patches thrilled all; of time spent with girlfriends at the spa, where vinotherapy treatments fuse Swedish style massage with the relaxing and antioxidant benefits of grape seed oil.

Community-building happens naturally among neighbors, but Suncadia staff organize events to help it along, from movie nights, Father’s Day fly-fishing, golf cart parades, bicycle scavenger hunts, and, of course, the occasional member/real estate gatherings like the one at Structure Cellars.

At the end of the event, guests walked away happy, having had a taste of the Tumble Creek and Suncadia lifestyle. If you are interested in learning more about ownership and membership at Tumble Creek or Suncadia, please contact us for a tour.

If finding the perfect Suncadia property is a dream come true, then finding the right person to make that happen is equally important. At Suncadia, we have a team of brokers who are as passionate about the resort and community they work at as they are about helping families find their dream home. This week, we want to introduce you to Paula Bianchi.

A Seattle native, Paula has more than 25 years experience specializing in second home real estate sales and marketing. “Growing up in Seattle, if you wanted to get out of the rain you had to fly somewhere or drive east,” says Paula who, along with her husband Chuy, drove east to move to Suncadia in 2000 and never looked back. “You drive 80 miles from the city and you are in a completely different climate zone, with different flora and fauna. A Suncadia winter means white fluffy snow and the rest of the time we have 200 plus sunny days!”

Paula has been part of the Suncadia team since its beginning, and has sold hundreds of homes over the years. She even built her own home in the Tumble Creek neighborhood and lives there full-time. One of her biggest joys as a Suncadia broker is introducing new families to the community and welcoming them to their new homes. Currently, Paula has a home listed at 430 Equinox Drive, which she describes as an elegant mountain home that would suit various types of lifestyles. “I could see this being the perfect home for an extended family or perhaps a home two families could buy and share together,” she says.

Featuring four bedrooms, a huge loft and three plus bathrooms spread on 2,873 square feet of living space, the home is located in the Prospector community and features views of fairway 8 of the Prospector golf course. “The home is on a dead end street close to the heart of Suncadia village and the Winery,” says Paula. How close? On foot, it’s just close enough for a quick chat on the way to the winery or the Lodge. It’s a mini adventure on bike for a 10-year-old to the waterslides at the Swim & Fitness Center; an easy scooter-scoot for small legs to the park; a fast huff and puff to the tubing hill and skating rink. “Any family that lives here will love the location,” she says.

Another thing anyone who tours this home will love is the design and attention to detail—think handcrafted railings by local craftsmen, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the living room, and French doors that open to a covered patio for entertaining year round. “The home is by 4D Architects, who are known for designing unique mountain homes,” says Paula. Noted for exceptional creativity and commitment to quality, 4D’s designs reflect the ecosystems and culture of the Pacific Northwest.

“It’s a stunning mountain home,” says Paula. “And Suncadia is an awesome community. Here people can be as active and social as they want to be or they can come here to escape the city. There’s literally something for everyone.”

Suncadia is a place to be with your family and friends—for generations to get together at a table, by a pool, around a campfire. As time becomes harder to come by for everyone, Suncadia is the perfect spot to slow down, to forget about phones and instead get up close and personal, spending time together in a home you cherish, in a place you love

But before you can ‘gather round and enjoy each other’s company, you must first build and design your home just the way you want it. And we’re here to help you do just that at our 4th annual Real Estate Expo. During the event, which takes place April 7 from 11am to 3pm, you have the opportunity to meet with Suncadia’s featured architects, builders and lenders to discuss options and ideas. Representatives from the Homeowners Association and Design Review department will also be in attendance and invite you to ask whatever questions you might have about building your dream home in Suncadia.

But the Expo is not just about building and landscaping your dream home. Those looking for design ideas can shop from the furniture and design store and even talk to Radio Shack staff to discuss your tech needs. Membership and Property Management representatives will also be there and ready to provide information about becoming a member and participating in the rental program.

If all that planning, designing and decorating sounds too stressful, don’t worry. On hand during the event will be representatives from our Spa with an area devoted to health and wellness, with products for sale, and perhaps even chair massages on offer. And, of course, there will be tasty bites to sample and a cash bar featuring local brewer DruBru. Proceeds from beer sales will go directly to Habitat for Humanity.

The Expo is a great opportunity to get questions answered, to do a bit of shopping, and a lot of brainstorming with experts who’ll help turn your ideas of a dream home into a reality.

We look forward to seeing you at the Lodge for the Real Estate Expo on April 7!

Building a custom designed house probably ranks high on every homeowner’s dream list. At Suncadia, we know how important it is for members of our community to build a home they will love for years to come, one that fits their lifestyle and that they are happy to come home to weekend after weekend. That’s why we have partnered with some of the best home builders in Washington.

Meet Michael Eide, whose residential home building company Eide Homebuilders, specializes in building custom homes. Owners Michael and his brother have been in business for 33 years. “We enjoy the relationship we develop with each customer,” says Michael. “It’s just amazing when we can help someone achieve a lifelong dream of living in a beautiful mountain home.”

Michael’s approach to building homes is simple. “In Suncadia people want to be able to gather in a home,” he says. “So with that in mind, we build homes that feature open living areas, both inside and outside, for owners and loved ones to share and get together. Kitchens are the heart of every home we build.”

Michael and his team at Eide Homebuilders are currently working on a Suncadia property on Portal Court located on a quiet cul de sac nearby paved trailhead that connects to Dawson Park. “The home sits on a beautiful south facing site with open views of the pine tree lined golf fairway, and the mountains in the distance,” he says. The home’s architecture combines traditional and mountain modern style. “We have opened the interior living areas with full height ceilings and windows facing to the south,” he says. “The house has a big open living space that offers the feeling of being outside.”

Throughout the spacious living areas are intricate design touches that Eide Homebuilders is known for. “The house features metal ceiling beams, walls of rustic barn wood, and floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with metal accents,” says Michael.
